Growth of Modern Data Management

Master data management has been around for a long time with many legacy vendors in the space having existed since the late 1990s to early 2000s. When I founded Reltio in 2011, I was wanting to introduce a more modern way of managing data and accelerating value. With that in mind — Reltio launched the industry’s first cloud-native SaaS platform in 2012 to unify multi-source, siloed data into a single source of trusted information for any data domain. Our innovative mindset was ahead of the curve even then as Reltio was the first vendor to introduce a SaaS platform built as cloud-native on the innovation of the underlying highly scalable public cloud and big data infrastructure.

Since that time Reltio has seen rapid growth, while consistently strengthening our position in the industry. Today, we manage more than 8 billion consolidated profiles across multiple data domains and serve up more than 5.5 billion API calls a month for our global customers. Furthermore, our largest customer manages more than 900 million consolidated profiles across Person and Organization data domains, marking one of the largest deployments of MDM in the world. Personally, I am thrilled to see this evolution of modern master data management coming to reality with a fast adoption by industry leaders such as AstraZeneca, Shiseido, Petco, GE Healthcare, and countless others.

Our work is paying off. Last month, Reltio was named a Leader in “The Forrester Wave™: Master Data Management, Q4 2021” report by Forrester Research, Inc. In addition, Reltio is positioned as a Challenger in the 2021 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Master Data Management Solutions*.

In today’s increasingly complex digital environment, the siloed data challenge keeps growing at an unprecedented rate. As a company, we’re growing to meet this challenge with a modern approach to managing data. According to third-party market research, Reltio is growing 15 times faster than the overall MDM category, and I believe our rapid growth is due to meeting today’s complex data challenges with a sophisticated yet easy-to-use solution offered as a cloud service with an API-first architecture.

We will continue to invest in capabilities that deliver agility and fast time to value for our customers. A few of our recent upgrades and offerings prove that we are focused on this and have no signs of slowing down:

  • Our recently announced low-code/no-code integration capabilities with Reltio Integration Hub to extend beyond existing native loading components, feature-rich APIs, prebuilt connectors for applications, analytics, enrichment solutions, and integration platforms. We enable both operational and analytical use cases with our rich set of adapters and real-time streaming APIs.
  • Our ML-based data curation offers continuous data quality and governance with human-in-the-loop processes, and graph technology to visualize relationships. With these capabilities, our customers maximize their impact with insight-ready, trusted data fueling their real-time operations.
  • Our SaaS solution includes enterprise-grade security, compliance, dynamic scalability, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR) without additional cost, and zero effort. We reduce the cost and complexity of managing these programs for our customers so they can focus on innovating with their data and better serving their customers.
  • We continue to grow our Customer Success organization with the sole purpose of effectively and efficiently driving value across the entire customer journey. Our Support organization works closely with our value delivery teams and we made significant investments in growing our Support team, increasing the staff by 75% year over year.

With our recent $120M in funding, we look forward to making investments in our business to accelerate our trajectory and continue offering game-changing technology to more customers, in more places all around the world.
