I was proud to represent us at the event which took place at New York City’s elegant and high-tech Alexandria Center for Life Science. The event convened some of the most inspirational and influential leaders in life-sciences.
The evening kicked off with a lively panel discussion about how millennials and their creativity and innovation will change the workforce dynamic. Flexible management styles were stressed as a way of incorporating and motivating millennials.

Christi Shaw in particular emphasized viewing workers as “a second family” and being sensitive to personal situations as part of management practices.
The panel then set the stage for an evening of idea sharing and networking.
Since Reltio officially launched with our series A funding in March 2015, we have been fortunate enough to win the hearts and minds of many pharma organizations, seeking a better and more efficient way to manage their data to achieve their R&D and Commercial objectives. This has led to rapid recognition by the life sciences media.
PharmaVoice in particular has published several articles describing our unique offering, starting with our inclusion in the April 2015 issue as “One of the most innovative companies disrupting and changing the healthcare landscape.” Reltio was featured in a select list that includes Google and GE Healthcare. So we were delighted to be able to sponsor this wonderful event, and to meet the PharmaVoice editorial team in person, led by Taren Grom.
As I listened to the topics discussed, it became clear to me that we are at the crossroads of an unprecedented opportunity in the industry. Never before has storage and processing power been so affordable and accessible. For many of the attendees, better use of data, and being more “data-driven” was certain a topic that no one disagreed with. The trick was, as one executive I spoke to asked:
While the landscape of technology has offered up unprecedented choice, and low barriers to entry, the reality is that many companies still aren’t able to take advantage. For some it’s the weight of legacy systems or lack of skilled resources, for others it’s hard to tell one tool from another.
Industry events such as these provide both a cathartic and educational opportunity, for people to both vent and learn about what their peers are doing to be more data-driven. At Reltio we will continue to invest in these events, not just to spread the word about how data-driven applications can easily be adopted, but to partner and engage with companies to make sure that our technology is primed and ready for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Being able to do so in such an elegant setting, with good food and great company, well it doesn’t get any better than this.
