The big data conundrum is one that bedevils most industries these days, but none more than life sciences. We have a great responsibility to the health of the nation to get things right, and to pursue continual improvement, two goals that are assisted by the proper use and analysis of data. In addition, we are under more scrutiny and regulation than most, making the task even more complicated. Finally, we probably have more data to collect than any other industry: disease states, scientific studies, individual patient info, clinical results and more. Then we need to turn all that into actionable information in an increasingly complex digital world. That’s why we sought out people who can help us clarify our thinking about big data.
